We hope that the next 365 days will be full of happiness, achievements, victories and good health. The past year has been packed with events and high points. This is all down to you and the trust you place in us but also to our Antarès riders, our partners and the whole team centred on Antarès. Here’s a look back at some riding highlights that have thrilled us over the last 12-months.
We really hit the ground running at the start of year with our new range of girths. Both our short and long girths were redesigned to provide your horse with a snugger, more comfortable fit.
In May, we showcased our new website featuring a new mobile-friendly look, exclusive content and much more besides.
Summer saw the launch of our small leather goods range and it seems that our Rio and Lisbon clutch bags were a bit hit! Both convenient and light, they can hold all you need for everyday life.
In September, we launched our new range of monostrap stirrup leathers with a new ergonomic design that hugs the rider’s leg featuring an improved fastening system.
Finally, in November, we brought out our brand new Stockholm gloves which are just perfect for a city centre stroll and getting to grips with things in the stable.
2022 couldn’t have got off to a better start as our jockey, Nathalie Desoutter, won at the Pont Long racecourse in Pau. Nathalie now with 13 victories under her belt.
In May, Beth Underhill won the CSI05 show jumping Grand Prix at La Baule!
In July, Gwendolen Fer won an eventing medal riding Romantic to be crowned French champion at the Pro Elite eventing championships in Vittel.
Our other Antarès eventing riders were also in fine form, with Robin Godel winning at Avenches in July to retain his title of Swiss eventing champion! He was also part of the Swiss team that won the Nations Cup. In France, Joséphine Heteau became French champion in Pro 2.
Stella Briand also became French dressage champion in the AS Pony category, while Mathieu Billot also shone for France competing in the Nations Cup!
The summer season finished in a blaze of glory with Zazie Gardeau winning the European Eventing Junior and Young Rider Championships.
A special highlight was the world’s top equestrian event, the World Championships at Herning, where our riders Beth, Antonio Maria Garofalo, Maksymilian Wechta, Caroline Chew and Pauline Baskin, all competed. In dressage, Capucine Noel rode in the European Championships which were held in Budapest.
In September, our eventing specialist, Robin Godel, made the headlines once again by competing at the Eventing World Championships in Pratoni! Our Swiss Antarès rider and serial CSI medallist, Bryan Balsiger, pursued his rise up the rankings by becoming Swiss Champion for the 3rd time in a row!
November was brimming with riding success. In horse racing, the young Angelo Zuliani secured his 300th win at just 22 years old. In eventing, Maxime Livio, evened things up by winning twice at the indoor cross-country competitions in Geneva and Sweden.
Finally, the Antarès EBM team triumphed at the Grand National championships, securing first place before even riding the last event. Outstanding performances by Mathieu Billot, Alice Lainé and Jean Luc Mourier throughout the season were enough to win the gold medal.
In April, we had the pleasure of welcoming Mathilde from the Dance with Him Youtube channel for a guided visit followed by our jockey, Lucas Zuliani, in May.
Finally, Maxime and Gwen came to see our new premises. As long-standing Antarès riders, they had the chance to explore our newly finished building.
The entire Antarès team is delighted to meet you all over the world and this year, the events calendar was particularly full. In May, we took part in the CSI5* and CSI4* show jumping Grand Prix events at La Baule and Badminton, respectively.
We even had the pleasure of meeting you at the iconic World Equestrian Festival in Aachen, Germany. Next, we were at the much-acclaimed French Championships in Lamotte Beuvron in July followed by a return visit to Dinard for the CSI05 show jumping Grand Prix, all pretty in pink. Many of you also came to see us at Équita Lyon!
Our entire team at Saintes took part in World Oceans Day, in June, when we collected no less that 25 kg of rubbish during “Antarès Blue Day“. In terms of new web content, we introduced our new “one-minute with…” interviews this summer. Here’s the one with Constant Van Paesschen.
All our team of specialists attended an osteopathy training course in September provided by EOS Animal Osteopathy School to improve their knowledge about equine conformation and provide you with ever more accurate fitting sessions!
Our team also travelled to Belgium to meet our partners in their respective organisations. This provided the additional opportunity to meet and talk with Nina Mallevaey, Alexis Borrin, Gudrun Patteet and Beth Underhill.
There were also medal-winners outside the show-jumping arena, with Estelle and Sylvie coming first in their respective Artpetrun competition categories, an event for employees held in Les Gonds.
To finish with, we are delighted to announce that we have once again secured “Entreprises du Patrimoine Vivant” (Living Heritage Company) certification. EPV certification provides official recognition to all our French master saddle-makers who strive daily to provide you with the best equipment money can buy.
