Your Reference Precision riding helmet in its component parts
Shell
The thicker outer shell is made from ABS. Its role is to disperse the energy from an impact over the helmet's surface. When your helmet strikes an object, the shell distributes the shock wave by dispersing it. Both light and rigid, ABS is also highly scratch-resistant.
Helmet liner
The helmet liner is made from EPS (expanded polystyrene foam) in a new ground-breaking shape to absorb the energy from impacts by dispersing it. As a result, the liner becomes far denser.
Inside, the liner is partly covered in blue waffle-shaped ERT (Energy Reduction Technology) foam pads. This new technical innovation better spreads out the energy from small bumps and big impacts. It also has anti-rotational properties. If you take a hit while riding, the blue waffle-shaped pads move with your head across the helmet shell to limit the risk of head injuries.

Air vents
The Reference Precision riding helmet features a new airflow system with 11 apertures inside the helmet and 2 vents front and rear. This new system provides better airflow and keeps your head cool. It also has also air ducts under the visor which improve airflow inside the helmet.
Fastening system
The helmet fastening has been completely redesigned with a easy-to-use "Fidlock" magnetic fastener. This means you can clip and unclip your helmet using one hand. The helmet fastener comes with a nylon lock ring providing the rider with added safety.
The nylon and leather harness ensures the helmet fits securely on the rider's head. The Y-shaped fastening system with its widely spaced anchor points, also called a 3-point fastening, ensures the helmet sits firm on your head. The helmet has nylon straps.
Helmet cap
The helmet cap is made from foam pads, lycra and 2D mesh to provide a perfect fit with your riding helmet. It is removable for regular cleaning.

The helmet cap is sold with the helmet.
And for added comfort...
Elasticated straps at the rear of the helmet relieve any pressure on the back of the head for added comfort so you can ride with your hair up.
Standard visor
European standard EN1384-2023 requires all visors or peaks to bend when exposed to a weight. This is intended to stop them breaking and injuring riders. As a result, Antarès helmet visors are designed to be flexible. If they become deformed, they can be reshaped by hand to return to their original shape.
The riding helmet comes with its Antarès protective drawstring bag.

Riding helmet safety
A riding helmet is paramount for every rider's safety, whatever their level. All our riding helmets feature the CE mark and SEI certification. They have also successfully passed EN1384-2023 and F1163-2023 quality standards.
That said, you do need to pay special attention to your helmet. As our impact tests show, helmet safety is impaired if the helmet liner has retracted after a blow, even if there are no marks on it from a fall. That's why you must change your riding helmet after suffering an impact.
We recommend replacing a helmet, at the latest, 5 years after the date of purchase, even if you do not see any evidence of impacts or damage.
Personalising your Antarès riding helmet
If want, you can change the colour of the triangle to better suit your style. This helmet can also be fully customised to be totally unique.
Choosing your riding helmet size
Helmet composition
Shell
The Antarès helmet features:
– a shell (available in 2 sizes: S/M 53-57 cm and M/L 57-61 cm)
- a liner to adjust the shell to your head size, available in 10 sizes.
Your head circumference in centimeters is equivalent to your helmet size.
To measure your head circumference:
1. Bring a tape measure
2. Place it above the line of the eyebrows and the ears.
Two people with the same head circumference will not necessary have the same helmet size depending on the shape of their head.
For example, if your head circumference corresponds to 57cm with a rather oval shape, your helmet size will be 57SM. If your head is rather round, prefer a 57ML.
